Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City have been far too generous so far this season.

Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City have been the Premier League’s three most error-strewn teams in terms of big chances missed and gifted at both ends of the pitch so far this season.

It has not been a particularly good start for the North London duo, with Arsenal claiming seven points and Tottenham just three after four round of matches in the Premier League so far this campaign.

The Gunners arguably boast the best set of attacking options in the league, with strength in depth restricting top players like Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Danny Welbeck to the bench.

Arsenal headed into the campaign with every right to be confident of a genuine title challenge, but so far it’s been to some degree a struggle and their lack of goals is a genuine worry.

Tottenham, likewise, have problems up front and their glut of wasted opportunities in front of goal only applies further pressure on club chairman Daniel Levy for not making the attacking additions needed.

As per the table provided by Opta Stats, Arsenal, Spurs and Norwich currently lead the way in terms of big chances missed and their efficiency at the back is also in question.

Arsene Wenger’s side have failed to score in their home games this season, while Petr Cech’s errors which led to West Ham United’s goals on the opening day are well documented.

Spurs have also lacked prolificacy in front of goal, but arguably more alarming is their three big errors at the back is the third most in the league behind Everton and relegation favourites Sunderland.

Norwich also join the duo as the most error-strewn side in the league, missing a host of big chances during the home matches against Stoke City and Crystal Palace.

The Canaries have an excellent attitude and enough quality to stay up this season, although they need to become more clinical in front of goal in order to get the rewards their performances deserve.
