Shortlist for PBI global banking awards announced

Number One

With a competitive wave of nominations received, Private Banker International (PBI) has released the shortlist for the prestigious 10th PBI Global Wealth Awards 2015.

In total, 30 award titles across four award categories were drawn up by the PBI judging panel.

These industry honours have become established as the awards that the private banking business really values. An independent panel of judges - comprising independent specialists in wealth management, the PBI editorial staff – as well as the worldwide readership of PBI, are used to assess the entries of competing wealth players.

Organised by Timetric, the PBI Global Wealth Awards recognise the best-in-class institutions in wealth management and those individuals who are making their mark in the global private banking and wealth management business.

Commenting on the shortlist, Meghna Mukerjee, Editor for Private Banker International was full of praise for the 2015 nominees: 'All in all, 2015 was a bumper year of nominations for the Private Banker International Global Wealth Awards. We've received robust and varied nominations from across the world, representing very different business models. This illustrates the strategic growth of the wealth management industry in a highly competitive time'.

Ruben Kempeneer, regional director of Timetric Singapore, commented: 'The private banking industry has been facing sweeping changes in areas of regulatory frameworks, client preferences and rising competition, to name a few. Asia in particular has hit the limelight as a region of tremendous opportunities, with the Greater China markets of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan exhibiting their own unique dynamic'.

'With the vested interest of private banks in these markets, our annual summit provides a platform for the industry’s best to decipher the most significant trends, from the liberalisation of the Chinese economy to the changing needs of the ultra-high-net-worth segment, as well as the potential that lies in the increasingly important next-generation clientele. These changes are transformative and need to be discussed with sophistication and accuracy in order for them to truly develop into significant business opportunities'.

Awards winners will be announced at the PBI Global Wealth Awards Gala dinner on 16th October 2015 at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, following the 25th Private Banker International Global Wealth Summit.
