Christian Gaertner, a managing director at Bank of America in London, is leaving to join a German technology startup, a spokeswoman for the bank confirmed.

Bloomberg News reports that Gaertner, who joined the bank from Goldman Sachs in 2011, will remain in his present role until the end of this month and relocate to Germany later in the year, the spokeswoman said. 

In the meantime, Bloomberg also reports that Deutsche Bank hired health-care investment banker Shawn Cross from Wells Fargo, according a person with knowledge of the matter.

Cross was hired in 2010 to lead biopharmaceutical banking at Wells Fargo in San Francisco, according to a press release at the time.
