Former Arsenal favourite Ray Parlour praised West Ham on talkSPORT, for the way they went about improving their squad on transfer deadline day.
West Ham were one of the busiest clubs in the top flight on the final day of the summer transfer window, as they made several additions to improve their squad.
Manager Slaven Bilic made good attacking signings in the form of Nikica Jelavic and Victor Moses, while securing Alex Song from Barcelona on a loan deal for the second season running.
“They’ve gone out and paid some money – Jelavic has come in, Alex Song knows the club very well and Victor Moses I think might be a very good signing for West Ham,” he told talkSPORT.
Pressure on Bilic
The manager is now under a little bit of pressure because he’s been backed by the club’s joint-owners with most of the transfers he has asked for this summer.
He’s been allowed to bring in some of his first choice targets, with a number of impressive additions to the team.
However, that means he doesn’t have any excuses if he can’t get more out of the current group of players, in order to get the club into a good position by the time of the move to the Olympic Stadium.
Hopefully, it’s not going to be a case of Bilic being moved on later into the season and then someone else picking up the pieces of a squad that he worked hard to assemble.
