Leeds to loan out Lee Erwin; interest from League One and Two

HITC Sport understands that the Whites are prepared to let the Scottish striker leave on a short-term agreement to get minutes under his belt.

Leeds United are set to allow summer signing Lee Erwin to leave the club on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

The highly-rated Scottish striker has been champing at the bit to get a chance since his switch from Motherwell at the end of last season, when Leeds beat a host of clubs to secure his signature.

Now the 21-year-old could be set for a loan move away from Elland Road, and it is understood a number of League One and League Two sides have informed Leeds that they would like to have him.

League One big guns Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic are believed to be leading the chase, whilst the likes of Bradford City, Barnsley and Southend United could all offer him a temporary home.

Erwin is yet to be given his chance in the Championship by Uwe Rosler so far this season as fellow summer signing Chris Wood has impressed leading the line – helping the Whites to make an unbeaten start to their 2015/16 league campaign.
