Former Liverpool midfielder Don Hutchison revealed on the SportsHUB: Transfer Deadline Live show on BT Sport Europe on Tuesday evening that he knew that Slaven Bilic wanted to add pace to his West Ham United side.
Hutchison, a former West Ham player himself, stated that he spoke to Bilic during training this week and knew that he wanted to bring in wide players.
The former Scotland international midfielder believes that the West Ham boss has got what he wanted in Michail Antonio, who joined the Premier League side from Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day.
"I think West Ham have done well," said Hutchison on the SportsHUB: Transfer Deadline Live show on BT Sport Europe on Tuesday evening.
"I was with Slaven Bilic at the training ground this week, and he was genuinely trying to get pace in at wide areas and he has got that, I think, with Antonio from Forest."
Antonio is a highly-rated winger who was one of the best players for Forest last season.
The former Sheffield Wednesday player scored 14 goals and created 62 chances in 46 Championship games during the 2014-15 campaign.
The 25-year-old had a pass accuracy of 60% and a shot accuracy of 44%, and won 151 headers, 104 dribbles and 42 tackles.
Antonio scored two goals and created nine chances in four Championship matches for the Reds this campaign before his move to West Ham.
The 25-year-old was one of four players West Ham signed on deadline day.
Striker Nikica Jelavic moved to the Hammers from Hull City, while defensive midfielder Alex Song and winger Victor Moses joined the London outfit on season-long loan deals from Barcelona and Chelsea respectively.
