Australia team-mate Mark Milligan commends Celtic's Tom Rogic for return to form

The attacking midfielder returned to the Australia fold last night.

Australia were comfortable winners in their most recent international fixture. They cruised to a 5-0 win against Bangladesh in a World Cup qualifier, with one Celtic player catching the eye.

Tom Rogic put in a man-of-the-match performance to further cement his recent improvement after a difficult to start to life in Glasgow.

He scored in the game in what was his first appearance for Australia in 18 months.

His performance certainly caught the eye. International team-mate Mark Milligan, who currently plays his football for Baniyas in the UAE, told Football Australia after the game:

“It’s no big surprise really, Tom’s a world-class player.

“It’s just good to see him fit and playing regularly at his club and to be back in here also and doing well for us.”

Rogic signed for Celtic in 2013 after a stint with the Central Coast Mariners in his homeland but has struggled to find regular playing time or fitness at Celtic in that time.

However, after not playing a single game in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic last season after his injury nightmare deepened he has been a far more regular presence in the Celtic first-team this season so far.

Now he is also getting back into form for his national team and Celtic will be hopeful he can soon become a star in the Bhoys first-team.
