Former England under-21 boss Stuart Pearce attempted to explain on talkSPORT what Victor Moses will add to West Ham.
The winger signed a new deal with parent club Chelsea yesterday, before he was loaned to the Hammers where he will spend the rest of the season.
Pearce feels it’s definitely a move in the right direction for Slaven Bilic’s team.
“I think cutting edge out wide. Victor is one of those players where you’re not sure what you’re going to get from him for good and for bad,” he told talkSPORT.
“He’s probably had impacts on occasion and then spent too long out of the team so it’s real hit and miss – He gives you that option out wide and he’s got pace.”
Throw him straight into the team
The best approach for Bilic and West Ham is to throw him straight into the team following the international break.
He should thrive given the chance to play regularly and can hopefully make a big impact for his loan club, as the Hammers look to recover after an inconsistent start to the season.
Any winger that has pace to burn is always going to stand a chance of being successful because it puts full-backs onto the back foot and makes it very difficult for those players to adjust with someone running at them with speed.
Chelsea clearly feel he’s got something in terms of his talent, West Ham now just need to sit back and let him show that in their final season at Upton Park.
