David de Gea for Spain U21

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been pictured training for Spain.

David de Gea is putting his transfer deadline day disappointment behind him.

The goalkeeper has a job to focus on with Spain, and joined up with the international squad on Tuesday.

Yesterday (Wednesday) he took part in his first training session since his transfer to Real Madrid fell through, and looked his usual composed self.

De Gea won his place as Spain's number one goalkeeper last season, and will be keen not to do anything to lose that place.

Spain have a crucial match with Slovakia on Saturday, with the eastern European side topping the Euro 2016 qualification group with six wins from six games.

Spain are three points behind and have a superior goal difference by two, and need a victory to put themselves in pole position to qualify for the tournament in France.

If they fail to win at home then they face the real possibility of having to negotiate through the play-offs, even if they will be the team everybody wants to avoid.

De Gea is yet to play a competitive game this season, and will have to show there is no rustiness by impressing in training to ensure he retains his place.
