Nicky Ajose left Leeds United to sign with Swindon Town.
He only moved to Elland Road last August, but he was released from the Whites by Uwe Rosler so as to ensure he would be allowed to move away from Yorkshire following the close of the transfer window.
Ajose was signed early in the reign of Dave Hockaday, the much maligned former head coach of Leeds, who spent just six games in charge of the Championship club.
The forward was never given chances to impress after Hockaday’s sacking, and his debut season as a Leeds player saw him manage just three league games and one appearance in the League Cup - totalling 258 minutes of action in total.
He headed off on loan to Crewe Alexandra in November 2014 for a loan spell, and enjoyed his stay in League One, netting eight goals in 27 games.
He has now officially left Leeds, and has linked up with Swindon, and fans took to Twitter to react to his release from the Elland Road club, with many blaming the Whites for not giving Ajose enough of a chance, whilst others suggested he was never good enough for the club to begin with.
Am I the only one that is a little bit gutted Ajose was never given much of a chance. #lufc— Nicholas LUFC Raine (@NicholasRaine) September 2, 2015
Feel bad for Ajose don't feel he was given much of a chance and he was brought in by a laughing stock coach so people wrote him off #lufc— Daniel Robinson (@DRobinson92) September 2, 2015
Ajose, another lad who never got a chance at the club #lufc— Adam Cater (@cater_adam) September 2, 2015
Personally I think Leeds should of gave ajose more of a chance and got rid of doukara he's had more than his fair share of chances #lufc— Gareth Ferguson (@GarethFMusic) September 2, 2015
great transfer window kept young stars brought in quality over quantity and best of all Ajose has gone. mutual consent? yeah right #lufc— Pompey White (@PompeyWhite) September 2, 2015
Anyone sad to see Nicky Ajose leave #LUFC? Regardless of his ability, he never escaped the curse of being a 'Dave Hockaday signing'— James Marshment (@marshyleeds) September 2, 2015
Ajose was such a average signing a solid lg 1/ lg 2 player IMO one of the worst & pointless signing in recent years for #lufc— Benny LUFC Tayls (@bennytaylor1984) September 2, 2015
