West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino showed he is putting his deadline day disappointment behind him, by jetting off on a break.
The England under-21 international posted a message on Twitter showing he was on a private jet, amid reports from SkySports he has been told not to return to the club until next week, so he can clear his head.
Berahino caused controversy when he displayed his frustration via social media in the final hour of deadline day as West Brom blocked Tottenham Hotspur's final attempt to sign him.
Sad how i cant say exactly how the club has treated me but i can officially say i will never play Jeremy Peace.— Saido Berahino (@SBerahino) September 1, 2015
His message angered fans and drew criticism from pundits, and he faces having to climb down from his stance to strike if he is to play first team football before January.
West Brom fans did not take kindly to seeing a photo of a smug looking Berahino on a private jet, and responded to him accordingly.
These were responses Berahino acknowledged, 'favouriting' them via his Twitter page...
Unless Berahino favourited the tweets to show that he understands fans' disappointment and wants to put things right, it's unclear what benefit he stands to gain, and until he publicly shows any contrition for disrespecting the club which pays his wages, supporters will continue to take a dim view of his antics.
