Gareth Bale sends message reflecting on swapping Tottenham for Real Madrid

Gareth Bale says it was a dream to sign for Real Madrid from Tottenham two years ago.

Two years have now passed since Gareth Bale became the world's most expensive footballer.

His £86 million fee still stands as the highest ever paid to sign one player, with Tottenham Hotspur squeezing every last penny out of Real Madrid.

Bale took to Twitter to reflect on the milestone, and shows no sign of unhappiness at his life at the Spanish club.

He is yet to win La Liga, but has Champions League and Copa del Rey medals, scoring in both finals.

The manager who signed him however, Carlo Ancelotti was sacked in the summer after a trophyless 2014/15, and the pressure will be on Bale, who was criticised last season by fans despite scoring 17 goals in all competitions for the club.

This time around he is being given more license to play up front by manager Rafa Benitez, with Real rejecting advances from Manchester United to bring him back to the Premier League.

With arguments ongoing regarding the botched transfer of David de Gea between the two clubs, the Red Devils' chances of landing Bale in the future could have taken a big hit.
