Gary Gardner reacts on Twitter to Jonny Williams potentially joining Nottingham Forest

The Aston Villa midfielder is still taking a keen interest in Nottingham Forest, with the club linked with a loan move for the Crystal Palace man.

Aston Villa midfielder midfielder Gary Gardner is still taking a keen interest in Nottingham Forest after his loan spell at the Championship club last season.

And the 23-year-old has given his verdict on Forest potentially signing Crystal Palace's Jonny Williams on loan.

The Crystal Palace midfielder is set to join Nottingham Forest until the end of the year, according to ITV Sport.

And Aston Villa man Gardner feels the City Ground outfit will be getting themselves a good signing if they land the 21-year-old.

Williams started his career at Crystal Palace and has spent time on loan at Ipswich Town, as well as representing the Welsh national side.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, will need all the additions they can get after a poor start to their Championship season.

Dougie Freedman's side have also now lost their star man in Michail Antonio after West Ham United snapped him up on Deadline Day.

As for Gardner, his campaign at Aston Villa has gotten off to a slow start after he sustained a pre-season injury. Forest are 16th after five league games and will hope Palace's Williams can give them a much-needed boost.
