Charlton hoping to tie Morgan Fox to new deal amid Premier League interest

Charlton Athletic - The Valley

HITC Sport understands that a number of top-flight clubs are closely monitoring the 21-year-old full-back.

Charlton Athletic are looking to tie down starlet Morgan Fox after fending off late interest from Swansea City during the summer transfer window, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the possible deal.

Left-back Fox is emerging as one of the best young defenders outside the top-flight, and Charlton are understandably eager for him to extend his stay at the club.

21-year-old Fox has two years left on his current contract but that was signed before his breakthrough campaign last season which saw him play over 20 games.

Fox, who has been called into the full Welsh squad, is now being targeted by a number of top-flight clubs and while Swansea failed with an approach, West Ham United, Leicester City and Southampton are closely monitoring his situation.

Charlton have made a solid start to their 2015/16 Championship campaign, collecting eight points from a possible 15, and the tying of Fox to fresh terms would help to keep the feel-good factor flowing at the Valley.
