Barcelona ace Munir El-Haddadi has four months to save career, Arsenal must go back and take a look

Why Arsenal should pay close attention to Munir El-Haddadi's situation at Barcelona.

Munir El-Haddadi has just four months left to save his Barcelona career, report Spanish newspaper Marca

The forward has been widely tipped as the Catalan club's next breakthrough star, but he struggled to make an impact in the 2014/15 season.

There was a real hope he could step up particularly during Luis Suarez's early suspension, but once the Uruguayan superstar returned, El-Haddadi faded into the background during a hugely successful treble winning season for the club.

El-Haddadi is a player who Marca reported last year that Arsenal made an enquiry for, which led to Barcelona renewing his contract until 2017.

Yet with the club's transfer ban officially ending in January, Marca report that the Spanish youth international has until then to show he is capable of making an impact, or risk being replaced.

Already it is noted that Sandro Ramirez has replaced him in Luis Enrique's pecking order, and an exit could be his best option.

Barcelona have let youngsters Gerard Deulofeu leave for Everton this summer, and Adama Traore to Aston Villa.

Both players were regarded in the same way as El-Haddadi, who Marca reported last year is also on the radar of German champions Bayern Munich, managed by Pep Guardiola.

He is a player Arsenal will recognise, scoring against their under-19 side for Barcelona's in a 4-2 win which ended the club's UEFA Youth League run in 2013/14, against a side which included Hector Bellerin, Serge Gnabry and Chuba Akpom.

He is the sort of dynamic player who can play wide and up front, similarly to Alexis Sanchez, but one who would need games in order to develop.

Highly talented, there would be more chance of seeing him break through than it seems Joel Campbell has at this point, and he is worth the Gunners taking a gamble on if displacing Barcelona's trident of Suarez, Messi and Neymar proves to be the impossible task it sounds like.
