The Dane wowed the crowds with some fine trickery and neat footwork during a the warm-up for Wolfburg’s Bundesliga clash with Schalke.
He may have been surplus to requirements at Arsenal, he may even be surplus to requirements at Wolfsburg, but when it comes to showing off during a pre-match warm-up, Nicklas Bendtner is the best in the world.
With Bas Dost’s goals keeping the Dane out of the Wolves’ starting line-up for the time being, fans of the former Gunners prospect had to make do with a lovely bit of footwork in the build up to the game.
Though he did make it onto the pitch for the final 11 minutes of Wolfsburg’s comfortable 3-0 win over Schalke, it was these pre-match scenes that provided the bulk of the Bendtner highlights this weekend.
Still with the Bundesliga side despite persistent rumours linking him with a move away from the club , Bendtner is already off the mark in the German top-flight this season.
And he will be keen to maintain his fine form for the Danish national side in the coming days, having scored 29 goals in 68 international appearances to date.
With games against Albania and Armenia coming up, we have a feeling we may not have seen the last of Bendtner’s pre-match posturing just yet.
