Celtic manager Ronny Deila is happy with his summer signings - and wants more in January.
Celtic manager Ronny Deila has told the club's official website that he will again look to make new signings in the January transfer window.
The Bhoys concluded their summer business late on deadline day, as Croatian defender Jozo Simunovic arrived to replace Southampton-bound Virgil van Dijk.
Simunovic was Celtic's eighth summer signing, and he now joins Logan Bailly, Saidy Janko, Dedryck Boyata, Tyler Blackett, Scott Allan, Ryan Christie and Nadir Ciftci in arriving at Celtic Park.
Now, the focus turns to retaining the Scottish Premiership title, and whilst they bowed out of the Champions league in the play-offs following a defeat to Malmo, Celtic do also have a Europa League campaign to look forward to this term.
Those new signings will be hoping to play big parts in all competitions, and even with a strong squad at his disposal, Deila is already thinking about more additions.
Speaking to the club's official website, Deila says that Celtic have the ability to go and make more signings in January - and that's something he is very keen to do.
"I believe what we have done in the summer has given us a squad with real depth for the season ahead," said Deila. "We already had a strong squad going into the summer period and we have now signed eight quality players in this transfer window."
"Again we will once again look to strengthen in the January transfer window. We have the resources available to do this and this is something we always aim to do, ensuring that we are as well equipped as possible to bring our supporters as much success as we possibly can," he added.
Fans may have wanted another striker to arrive after Stefan Scepovic's departure to Getafe, whilst a left back may still be needed, depending on where Tyler Blackett plays.
With funds no doubt left over from Virgil van Dijk's move to Southampton, Celtic may be gearing up for a big January - just like this year, when they signed Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven from Dundee United.
