Relegation odds: Three clubs still at surprisingly short prices, including Villa, Newcastle and more

Sunderland remain favourites, while West Brom and West Ham are also highly backed.

Aston Villa, Newcastle United and West Ham United are all still priced at surprisingly low odds to get relegated from the Premier League, according to Sky Bet.

Indeed, after Deadline Day - and the opening few weeks of the season - Sunderland are favourites to go down, with Watford following closely behind.

Tim Sherwood's Aston Villa, though, are third in the running, followed by Norwich City and then Bournemouth.

Villa came close to relegation last term but have since sold 14 players and recruited a further 13.

Sky Bet's odds, however, suggest that may not be enough, while Newcastle and West Ham also find themselves in similar positions.

The Magpies currently sit in the relegation zone and are yet to win but it is early days and one would think their signings warrant a price higher than 100/30.

But that is exactly the rate at which Newcastle are currently being backed to go down, while West Ham - despite four Deadline Day signings - are still 5/1 for the drop.

West Brom, meanwhile, find themselves at 3/1, just ahead of Newcastle to go down. Tony Pulis's men are currently 15th after four Premier League games, with West Brom having won once, drawn once and lost twice. Sunderland have drawn the shortest straw as far as the bookies are concerned, though...
