Leeds United have signed Excelsior winger Jordan Botaka.
Leeds United have confirmed on their official website that winger Jordan Botaka has joined the club from Dutch side Excelsior.
The Whites had already landed one wide man this summer in Stuart Dallas, but it was clear that manager Uwe Rosler still wanted a winger with blistering pace to aid his attack.
He now has that, as 22-year-old winger Botaka has arrived on a permanent basis, penning a two-year deal with an option of a further two years.
The DR Congo international impressed under now-Brentford boss Marinus Dijkhuizen at Excelsior last season, and will bring real speed to the Leeds attack.
That was Leeds' only deal on deadline day, and fans reacted on Twitter throughout the day after seeing Botaka arrive at Elland Road.
The response was largely positive from Whites fans, and some even compared Botaka to former Elland Road hero Max Gradel - another pacey winger who enjoyed great success during his time in West Yorkshire.
Botaka has some adjusting to do - and fans were keen to point out Adryan as an example of a flair player who struggled to make the grade in England - but if he can emulate Gradel, he will become a firm fin favourite.
Really hope botaka fits in this league, just hope it's not another YouTube sensation like Adryan, championship is a different ballgame #lufc— j lamb (@whitevanlam) September 1, 2015
Love the look of this Botaka bloke though. Sounds like a 6ft Max Gradel. #lufc— White Answers (@whiteanswers) September 1, 2015
Judging by the videos botaka looks pretty class just depends if he can do it in championship #lufc— Connor (@constorerr) September 1, 2015
I hope botaka doesn't end up like Ramon Nunez and adryan. #lufc— pauldavidcarr (@carrofleeds) September 1, 2015
