Michail Antonio sends message to West Ham and Forest supporters following his move

Upton Park

The new West Ham United player has expressed his delight on social media.

New West Ham United winger Michail Antonio has taken to Twitter to send messages to his new fans and his former side Nottingham Forest.

The 25-year-old left winger was one of four players to arrive at Upton Park on transfer deadline day, along with Nikica Jelavic and loan signings Alex Song and Victor Moses.

Given Antonio’s pace and creative flair he is arguably the most exciting signing of the lot, especially when you consider he has already scored four goals in five matches for Forest this season and ended the previous campaign with 15 goals and 14 assists.

According to a report from Sky Sports, Antonio completed his move for a fee in the region of £7million, signing a four-year contract with the Hammers.

His arrival concludes what has been a superb summer for West Ham and their new manager Slaven Bilic with the likes of Dimitri Payet, Pedro Obiang and Angelo Ogbonna arriving earlier in the window.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, Antonio wrote, “Thank you to Nottingham Forest. I loved my time at the club and wish the players, fans, manager and chairman success this season and for the future.

“(I am) delighted to have joined West Ham; can’t wat to get started. Thanks to the fans for the warm welcome.”

Antonio’s first chance to impress for his new club will be directly after the international break, when West Ham look to build on their impressive victory against Liverpool with a home match against Newcastle United on Monday 14 September.
