England legend Sir Geoff Hurst has told talkSPORT what he expects to see from Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane over the course of the next season.
Kane is facing a big challenge as he looks to embrace the task of replicating and improving on a superb campaign last year, where he finished as Tottenham’s leading goalscorer.
Hurst doesn’t expect to see much change in attitude from the Tottenham man as he looks to deal with the challenges and tactics thrown at him by opposition teams.
“What does Harry do? He continues doing what he has been doing with the same attitude as last season,” he told talkSPORT.
“He has a good attitude, is down to earth and you can see he is grounded and how well he handles himself.”
“He has got to do it all over again year in, year out.”
A slow start, a worry for Spurs?
Kane hasn’t started this season with a bang, which will disappoint him personally as well as his manager Mauricio Pochettino and the club’s fans.
However, as Hurst suggests, he’s got a fantastic attitude and will work hard to ensure that he’s effective in the face of difficult challenges.
What sides now seem to do against Kane is look to isolate him in the Tottenham attack, as teams make it difficult for him to get on the ball.
He needs to trust himself, resisting the urge to drop deeper which in turn makes it more difficult for Spurs to mount pressure and turn defence into attack.
