Burnley fear striker Lukas Jutkiewicz could miss the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Jutkiewicz picked up the knee injury after coming off the bench during Burnley's 2-1 win at Bristol City last weekend.
The 26-year-old, who was linked with a move away from Turf Moor during the transfer window, has been for scans on the injury and it is feared the striker has suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury.
If Jutkiewicz's worst fears are confirmed it means the former Everton youngster will be out for the rest of the season joining fellow long-term injury victim Ashley Barnes on the sidelines.
Jutkiewicz's injury leaves Sean Dyche short of attacking options with Jelle Vossen allowed to leave the club to return to Belgium after only arriving at Turf Moor in the summer, while Marvin Sordell had his contract cancelled by mutual consent.
Jutkiewicz has featured in all six of Burnley's fixtures this season and his injury could force Dyche to move in the loan window to bring in a replacement.
