New Celtic defender Tyler Blackett has told the Glasgow Evening Times what he feels Sir Alex Ferguson would make of his move to the club.
The Manchester United owned defender has been confirmed as a loan signing for Ronny Deila, with the Norwegian further improving his squad options following the end of the summer transfer window.
Blackett feels the United legend would give the move his approval for the simple reason that it allows him to develop and learn about the game.
“How would he feel about me being here? Like everyone else, I’m sure he’d be happy as it will improve me and develop my game,” he told the Glasgow Evening Times.
One step at a time
Blackett could get carried away with personal aims moving from one big club to another, but he needs to stay focused and keep his aims simple.
His first objective should be to establish himself as a key part of a Celtic backline, which is fundamental to any success the club have over the next few months.
If he can break into the team, show some good form and win Celtic some points then he’ll do his chances of strengthening his Manchester United future no harm at all.
Hopefully Deila can find a way to make him a better defender and nurture the talent and positives he provides for the football club.
