Reading striker Nick Blackman has emerged as a target for Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Wolves boss Kenny Jackett is in the market for a new striker before the transfer window closes after learning that Nouha Dicko is set to be ruled out for the rest of the season with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
Blackman is thought to be on Wolves' wanted list and Jackett is ready to test Reading's resolve to hang onto the former Blackburn Rovers man.
Blackman has struggled to establish himself at Reading since his arrival from Sheffield United in January 2013.
However, the 25-year-old has earned a regular run in the side so far this season, scoring four goals in seven appearances for the Royals.
Reading would be reluctant to lose Blackman so close to the end of the transfer window, but they could have a ready-made replacement in place having lined up a deal for Matej Vydra on loan from Watford.
