Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to the signing of West Brom centre-back Joleon Lescott with delight - and many feel he could well become a top signing at Villa Park.
Indeed, supporters are most impressed by the fact the 33-year-old is a Villa fan. They've also emphasised the fact he has previously worked with Micah Richards and could therefore form a solid partnership with his former Manchester City colleague.
West Brom fans may rue the departure of the experienced centre-back, especially to such a bitter rival. But they have signed a replacement in Jonny Evans.
For the Aston Villa faithful, though, there is genuine optimism about the recruitment of Lescott. Whether he will be an upgrade on Ciaran Clark is a matter up for debate - although the majority view is that he will be.
After sealing his move to Villa Park, the 33-year-old sent a warm message to West Brom fans on Twitter. And here's how Aston Villa fans reacted to the signing of the Baggies centre-back on social media. The general Lescott feedback is very positive...
