The winger seemed to get the worst of both worlds on Twitter.
No, the White Hart lane faithful aren't totally surprised or in disagreement with the deal itself - but they are appalled at how the 28-year-old winger has been treated by the north London side.
Lennon was a long-time servant of Tottenham and the one tweet the club dedicated to the confirmation of his move to Everton was something supporters felt was not enough considering his contribution at the Lane over the years.
Here's how a selection of Spurs fans saw the news - and how it was conducted - on social media...
He's a "troubled" individual, but that's a very perfunctory tweet about Lennon's departure #thfc— echosonicTHFC (@echosonicTHFC) September 1, 2015
Good luck also to Aaron Lennon. Treated appallingly. He is better off out of there. #thfc— Adam Blackman (@ajb_79) September 1, 2015
Everton fans, meanwhile, appeared underwhelmed by the signing of the 28-year-old winger.
There were certainly those who were pleased he has joined the Toffees from Spurs on a permanent deal but several disagreed.
The biggest feeling on Twitter, though, appeared to be that Everton fans have been conned by their board - and that the Goodison Park outfit needed a lot more than a winger who is the wrong side of 25.
Here's a selection of the Everton fan reaction on social media to the Lennon move:
Massively underwhelmed by the signing of Lennon. Did well on loan but doesn't improve the first XI or address need for a No 10. #efc— Joe Strange (@joe_strange) September 1, 2015
Much as I loved Lennon last season do we really need 4 wingers at the club when we don't actually play a formation that allows any? #efc— stevie_loz (@stevie_loz) September 1, 2015
Kenwright knows what he's doing every window link is with some decent players an then gets Lennon back an we fall for it every time #EFC— Patrick Irving (@Patrick_Irving) September 1, 2015
