Tony Fernandes gives verdict on QPR's business, Phillips tweets about future

The Queens Park Rangers winger had been linked with West Brom.

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes is delighted with the west London club's transfer business this window.

Notably, the R's have kept Charlie Austin and Matt Phillips, as well as bringing in a number of new recruits. And the QPR chairman gave the following verdict on Twitter:

Phillips, meanwhile, took to Twitter and more or less confirmed he is staying at QPR - and it looks like he has designs on staying at Loftus Road all season, targeting promotion back to the Premier League with the R's.

The winger had been linked with West Brom, as reported by the Daily Mail, but it would seem the Baggies have failed in a move for the 24-year-old.

West Brom had been linked with Phillips all summer long but QPR fans will be delighted he appears to be staying.

And Austin, who will also be staying at Loftus Road, responded to Phillips's tweet with delight.

West Brom may still try and make a move for Phillips in January, of course, but QPR appear to have two Premier League quality players in their ranks. A Championship promotion bid, on paper at least, could well prove a reality, then.
