The former Arsenal player has commented on Manchester United's new addition.
The 19-year-old agreed a big-money move from Ligue 1 club AS Monaco on Tuesday, making him United’s sixth signing of the summer.
Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Matteo Darmian and Sergio Romero had all been signed earlier this summer but now Martial becomes the most expensive teenager in world football after signing a four-year contract for £36million (as reported by the BBC).
Martial has been compared with Gunners legend Henry and now the latter has had his say on the United teenager.
“He has pace; can he score a lot of goals?” Henry told Sky Sports News. “I actually don’t know because he’s actually only played 52 games, so it is a weird one for me to say. He is a massive gamble, but he is one you have to take these days.
“He has pace, we saw him playing at the Emirates last season and causing trouble to the Arsenal defence. He has a bright future but there is always a question mark: Is he going to perform?”
Henry went on to say Martial could play through the middle for United if manager Louis van Gaal opted to do that, and it will be interesting to see how the young Frenchman is utilised initially given the presence of Wayne Rooney and the fact that Depay and Juan Mata have been playing as part of a front-three so far this season.
