Manchester United are to sign teenager Regan Poole, report The Mail.
The paper write that a deal has been agreed to bring in the 17-year-old from League Two side Newport County.
Poole is a centre-back, and is due to undergo a medical today before the transfer deadline passes at 6pm.
The Mail write that a fee could reach £400,000.
Poole would be unlikely to figure in the first team this season and instead play with the under-21 side.
The BBC reported at the weekend that Newport County had rejected an offer from Hull City for the Welsh youth international.
The Mail reported earlier this summer that Poole was set for a trial with Liverpool. He had previously been brought in by Manchester United to assess.
United are also expected to sign Anthony Martial before the transfer deadline, but aside from Poole, as yet it is unclear whether there will be any more incomings.
