Manchester United could be lining up a late move for Bayer Leverkusen dead ball specialist Hakan Calhanoglu, according to fresh reports from Turkey.
The Red Devils are reportedly set to offer the Bundesliga side £26 million with Turkish-football.com citing an on-air report from the Derin Futbol show on Beyaz Tv.
On the program, Turkish football expert Ertem Şener claimed Manchester United would complete a deal for the former Hamburg star before the close of the summer transfer window.
Calhanoglu has scored 15 goals in 51 appearances for Leverkusen to date and has been capped nine times by Turkey at international level, scoring on three occasions for his country.
Known for his ability from free-kicks, the 21-year-old has scored 22 goals throughout his career from dead ball situations and has already made something of an impact in Europe with four goals in 12 Champions League appearances to date.
Manchester United's reported interest comes just hours after Mexican striker Javier Hernandez completed a permanent switch in the opposition direction.
Chicharito has signed a three-year contract with Leverkusen, having previous featured for United in their Champions League qualifier against Club Brugge.
