Report claims Coventry want Nicky Ajose on loan but Leeds want transfer that covers cost of contract pay-up

Leeds United East Stand

The Leeds United player has been linked with a move away from Elland Road.

According to a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United forward Nicky Ajose is wanted by Coventry City on loan this season.

The 23-year-old spent the majority of last season on loan at Crewe Alexandra, where he ended the campaign with eight goals and five assists in 27 appearances, and despite returning to Elland Road this summer it seems he has no future at the club under manager Uwe Rosler.

Leeds were in desperate need of more width – something Ajose can offer on either flank – but he has not featured for the club this season and the YEP now claims Coventry have made their move with time running out to complete a deal.

The report goes on to claim that Leeds are keen to secure a transfer that covers the cost of paying up the remaining two years on his current contract.

Ajose certainly has the talent to succeed in the game – as he showed last season – and it will be interesting to see what happens to a player who is still young and has plenty of time to grow and ultimately fulfil his potential.
