Report: Aston Villa consider late deadline day move for Liverpool outcast Tiago Ilori

Aston Villa are reportedly weighing up a move for Liverpool's Tiago Ilori.

According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are weighing up a late move to sign Liverpool's out of favour centre back Tiago Ilori.

Villa have already landed three defenders this summer in Jordan Amavi, Micah Richards and Jose Crespo, whilst reports from BBC Sport suggest that West Bromwich Albion centre back Joleon Lescott has completed a medical to join Villa before tonight's deadline.

Now though, another defender is being linked with a move to Villa Park, with the Daily Mail suggesting that Villa are interested in signing Tiago Ilori.

The 22-year-old centre back, who joined Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon in 2013, has yet to even make his first team debut for the Reds, having spent time on loan at Granada and Bordeaux in recent years.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has the likes of Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure ahead of Ilori in the pecking order, and now another loan move could be on the cards.

The Daily Mail believe that Villa - who have just loaned centre back Nathan Baker out to Bristol City - are now looking to land Ilori before tonight's deadline.

The Portuguese defender has plenty of athleticism with great pace for a defender, and having become a real outcast at Anfield, he will be desperate to not only play regularly, but also impress should he make the move to Villa.
