The former Tottenham Hotspur boss has been talking about the West Bromwich Albion striker.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has been speaking to Kicca about the prospect of Spurs signing West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino before the transfer window closes.

There may only be a few hours left before things settle down until January, but Redknapp believes Tottenham can still get a deal done for the England under-21 international.

Berahino has been the subject of two failed bids from Tottenham this summer but the London Evening Standard reported earlier today that Mauricio Pochettino’s side had reopened negotiations regarding the front-man.

If the move goes through, it will be warmly welcomed by Tottenham fans desperate to see their side strengthen up front, and Redknapp for one believes the move is still in the offing.

“I still think the boy from West Bromwich Albion will go there (to Spurs),” he told Kicca. “I think Tony (Pulis) will want to sell him, that’s my honest opinion, I know he’ll deny that.

“I like the look of the forward West Brom have signed (Salomon Rondon), he looks good; they’ve got Lambert, they’ve got strikers, what’s he going to do with Berahino? What are they going to do with him, stick him out on the wing, where’s he going to play? Tony plays one up front so I’m sure they’d be quite happy to get £20million for him.

“I do see him going; I think Tottenham will sign him.”

Tottenham fans will certainly hope so, with an overreliance on Harry Kane something that could see them struggle this season if the youngster continues his own barren spell in front of goal.

Berahino knows Kane well from their time together on international duty, and they have the talent to forge a brilliant partnership if Tottenham can push this one over the line.
