Adnan Januzaj has signed on loan with Borussia Dortmund for the season, the German club have confirmed via their official website.
Januzaj is one of United's brightest young talents, and scored the winning goal for them just a fortnight ago in a 1-0 win against Aston Villa. That is one of the two games the club have won from four Premier League games this season.
The Belgian international did though struggle to make an impact last season, with Louis van Gaal never really giving an indication the winger had won him over.
The BBC report Manchester United are closing in on French prospect Anthony Martial, 19, for a fee of £36 million.
The progress made by signing Martial, is potentially negated in the short term by losing Januzaj for the season, even though long term it may bear out, and the 20-year-old may get more first team starts at Dortmund this season than if he had stayed at Old Trafford.
Here is a look at how fans reacted to the deal...
So why have we loaned out Januzaj!? Been one of the better players so far this season for #MUFC— Josh Tooley (@J_Tooley) August 31, 2015
How can Januzaj go from starting the first few games to being loaned out. Why not loan out Pereira instead. Baffling at times from LVG #MUFC— Alan (@stretfordGael) August 31, 2015
Januzaj goes from best player to getting the 11 from giggs, then fazed out, gets stronger, get into starting 11 then loaned out #mufc— ГРИНЕНКО (@Crucifyurmind) August 31, 2015
What was the point in having Johnstone, Lingard, Perreira, Januzaj and Wilson all heavily involved in pre season? #mufc— Stuart Hill (@stuhill90) August 31, 2015
