The Liverpool defender has confirmed he will stay and fight for his place at Anfield.
Jose Enrique has confirmed on Twitter that he will stay and fight for his place at Liverpool.
The Spaniard has been linked with West Brom but says there were no offers from the Midlands club.
Of course, he may well mean that there was no West Brom offer *good enough* for him but that is a matter only he will know - as his language hasn't been too clear on that one.
The fact remains, though, that the left-back will remain at Liverpool and will not be joining the Baggies.
Just to let you all know that it wasn't any offer from westbrom for me.I'm happy to stay and fight for my place. #YNWA— José enrique (@Jesanchez3) September 1, 2015
The 29-year-old faces a tough battle to return to the Reds first team. Alberto Moreno is ahead of him in the pecking order but teenager Joe Gomez is even ahead of Moreno.
West Brom could well have done with Enrique at the Hawthorns but the full-back is far from match fit and certainly isn't in any kind of form.
The real question, of course, is whether Enrique really wants to stay and fight for his place as he says - or simply sit in the reserves on a big wage at Liverpool. It's certainly the latter he has been doing during the last few months on Merseyside.
