Ismail Azzaoui has sent a message of thanks after leaving Tottenham Hotspur.
The highly rated Belgian was signed from Anderlecht a year ago and made rapid progress in the club's academy.
He was prolific for the under-18 side and stepped up to the under-21s, so it is some surprise he has been permitted to leave the club.
Azzaoui has signed for German Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, as reported The Mail who have been drawn in Manchester United's group in the Champions League.
It is potentially a poor decision from Spurs to let Azzaoui go, given his outstanding potential.
Wolfsburg have money to invest after selling Kevin de Bruyne to Manchester City, and if he gets near to becoming the £58 million player the ex-Chelsea man is, Spurs will kick themselves if they did not include a release clause amid the terms to sell Azzaoui.
