England legend Sir Geoff Hurst has urged Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane to avoid any last gasp exit from the club, as he spoke to talkSPORT.
The radio station’s website mentions that Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester United already this summer, but Hurst feels he needs to stay where he is because Tottenham have a tendency of giving younger players a chance to impress.
Kane is the number one striker at White Hart Lane and is under pressure to back up the impressive form he showed in the Premier League last year.
“I think staying at Tottenham is important. It's a good club and they create good chances. He should focus on trying to replicate last year and that is the key advice I'd give him as an ex-player.”
The problem Kane has
The issue Kane has with regards to replicating the form he showed last season is that he’s lost that surprise factor.
Every club he now faces up against knows all about him and he needs to try and find a way to reinvent his performances.
He doesn’t have a burst of blistering pace and relies on his movement to get chances, but the top teams have worked out ways to isolate him from the Spurs midfield, pushing him deeper which is where he’s less effective.
If he can develop a new trick or skill over the next few weeks, it should hopefully kick-start his season.
