Claims Manchester United could be successful in a late move for Antoine Griezmann have been dismissed.
Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague has insisted the French international will not be leaving Atletico Madrid.
The Mail reported in August that United could move for Griezmann after missing out on Pedro.
With the transfer deadline set to pass at 6pm on Tuesday, Balague has responded to heightened speculation over a late offer.
Who is saying that Griezmann could go to Manchester United? No chance. There never was one.— Guillem Balague (@GuillemBalague) August 31, 2015
A big money move for Griezmann would have seemed more logical than the money the club will pay for French colleague Anthony Martial, reported by Maxifoot to be upwards of 60 million Euros.
He is a talent who is considered crucial to Atletico Madrid's chances of pushing for the La Liga title, and has a proven goalscoring record as a winger, previously playing with Real Sociedad.
24-year-old Griezmann has a contract at Atletico lasting until 2020. He has one goal and two assists in the club's opening two matches of the La Liga season.
