Nottingham Forest are set to win the race to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams on loan, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
The Eagles are ready to send the 21-year-old Wales international out on loan until January so that he can be playing regularly.
A number of clubs have expressed an interest in Williams with the likes of Fulham, Bristol City and Wolverhampton Wanderers all keen on signing the classy midfielder.
However, Forest have stolen a march on their Championship rivals by moving quickly to bring Williams to the City Ground.
Williams is highly-regarded at Palace having come through the youth ranks at Selhurst Park, but he has seen his progress held up by several injuries.
Williams has had three spells out on loan at Ipswich Town during the last 18 months, but saw the last two stints on loan cut short by injury.
Williams is also keen to go out on loan so that he can get playing as he aims to safeguard his place in the Wales squad ahead of next summer's Euro 2016 finals.
