Everton are set to beat the transfer deadline to seal the signing of highly-rated Partick Thistle starlet Jack Hendry, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Everton have been tracking the defender for several weeks and are ready to push through a deal to bring Hendry to Goodison Park.
Hendry has caught the eye of Everton scouts and they have given Roberto Martinez rave reviews on the young Scot.
The former Dundee United man has really caught the eye at Partick after making his debut at the back end of last season, and has made four appearances this term.
Wigan Athletic have shown an interest in Hendry, but Everton are in pole position to land the talented defender.
Partick are resigned to losing Hendry and will not stand in the 20-year-old’s way if he is offered the opportunity to progress his career by moving to the Premier League.
Everton have already signed Argentine defender Ramiro Funes Mori from River Plate for £9.5 million on deadline day, as announced on the club’s official website, with the player signing a five-year deal at Goodison Park.
