West Ham co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to tell fans that the club are potentially ready to sign three new players today.
The Hammers have already brought in the likes of Darren Randolph, Carl Jenkinson, Angelo Ogbonna, Stephen Hendrie, Pedro Obiang, Dimitri Payet and Manuel Lanzini this summer, but after an inconsistent start to the season, fans are keen to see more reinforcements.
Away wins over Arsenal and Liverpool have displayed what West Ham can do, but home defeats to Leicester City and Bournemouth mean that nobody knows quite what to expect from the Hammers under Slaven Bilic.
Now, as we head in to the final few hours of the transfer window, the Hammers are certainly on the lookout for new additions - and we at HITC reported on Monday that Bilic's men are close to signing three players, with deals in place for Chelsea winger Victor Moses, Nottingham Forest wide man Michail Antonio and Hull City striker Nikica Jelavic.
Co-chairman David Gold has now given West Ham fans an update about their expected transfer business as we head into deadline day, using Twitter to admit that three new signings may be on their way today, fitting in to our report this week.
Three new signings could be confirmed before the deadline, Tuesday 6.00 pm dg— David Gold (@davidgold) August 31, 2015
It's clear that West Ham need additions in the final third, both out wide and up front - and signing Moses, Antonio and Jelavic would go some way to solving that.
Fans may want a central midfielder too having so far failed to re-sign Alex Song, though it would be little surprise to see the Barcelona outcast return to Upton Park at some point today, given his surplus status with Barca.
