Celtic fans react on Twitter as Stefan Scepovic joins Getafe

Celtic striker Stefan Scepovic has gone back to Spain with Getafe.

Celtic have confirmed on their official website that striker Stefan Scepovic has left the club in order to sign for La Liga side Getafe.

The Serbian international striker, 25, joined Celtic from Sporting Gjion last summer, and having hit 23 goals in 41 games for the Spaniards, there was plenty of optimism over his arrival.

However, Scepovic barely made an impact under Ronny Deila last term, scoring just six goals in 25 games for the Bhoys, playing as a third choice forward behind John Gudietti and Leigh Griffiths.

Now, after the signing of Nadir Ciftci earlier this summer, Scepovic's position as the forgotten man at Celtic Park was cemented - and his departure became inevitable.

On Monday night, Celtic confirmed on their official website that Scepovic has gone back to Spain, joining Getafe on an initial season-long loan deal.

Despite making no impact last season, Celtic fans aren't totally keen on seeing Scepovic leave the club. Many supporters took to Twitter after the confirmation of the deal, and suggested that he deserved more of a chance to impress having rarely featured.

Others even thought that Scepovic was a better player than new signing Ciftci, and believe that Celtic may live to regret letting Scepovic leave the club.

Here are some of the reactions from Celtic fans following Scepovic's move to Getafe...
