Carragher reacts on Twitter to failed De Gea move, makes bold prediction

The Sky Sports pundit has taken to social media after the Manchester United goalkeeper's Real Madrid move fell through.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has reacted with delight to news David de Gea's move from Manchester United has fallen through.

Indeed, the Spaniard will remain at Manchester United after Real Madrid's attempt to bring the goalkeeper to the Bernabeu fell through on Monday night before the Spanish transfer deadline.

And Sky Sports pundit Carragher is delighted. Not because it helps United - but because he feels they will lose out as a result.

Real Madrid have announced that it was Manchester United's fault De Gea didn't complete his move (they would say that, wouldn't they?) and Carragher believes the Old Trafford outfit will suffer as a result.

Firstly, the ex-defender says the Spaniard's head won't be right, while he also made the bold prediction he will leave United for free next summer. Potential good news, though, is that they won't be panic buying with the money earned from any potential De Gea deal just yet.

Manchester United now have a number of international goalkeepers but it is unclear which of them will actually play under Louis van Gaal. Looking at the goalkeeping reserves might be the most interesting part of a United game from now on...
