The midfielder is surplus to requirements at the club and they want to use the money to further strengthen.
The winger has found himself surplus to requirements at Villa Park this summer after manager Tim Sherwood has invested heavily to reshape the squad at his disposal.
That has left the 29-year-old far down the pecking order at the club, with him failing to feature in any of the match day squads this season and a number of youngsters having been preferred ahead of him instead.
And manager Tim Sherwood is keen to push through a sale despite having relied on him heavily as they narrowly escaped relegation and made it to the FA Cup final.
According to the Daily Mail, the midfielder is still one of the highest earners at the club, with him bringing in a reported £63,000-a-week in wages, money that could be used to further enhance Sherwood’s squad.
While they are keen to sell though, it seems the player is not as equally keen on leaving Birmingham, with there not being a host of sides looking to sign him. In fact, only Baniyas, from the UAE Pro League have shown interest in him of late, increasing his reluctance.
The club may be stuck with him for the foreseeable future then and Sherwood would be best served using the player, who has a raft of Premier League experience, rather than letting him rot in the reserves.
Whether he’s willing to do that remains to be seen, and it could be up to N’Zogbia to prove he still has a place in the squad.
