Report: Sheffield Wednesday hopeful of signing third Watford player this week in Matej Vydra

Sheffield Wednesday - The Owls

The Owls are hopeful of getting their hands on the Czech Republic international.

Sheffield Wednesday have recently done some great business, in particular with one club. The Owls, who are hoping to mount a promotion push this term, have negotiated two recent deals with Premier League newbies Watford.

The Hornets need to trim their foreign players at the club as they are currently over the threshold. That reasoning saw Daniel Pudil and Fernando Forestieri both make a move to Hillsborough last week and now, it seems another might be on the move to Yorkshire.

The Sheffield Star is reporting that Wednesday, who are still hoping to bring in another forward this summer, are hopeful of getting hold of Czech Republic international striker Matej Vydra.

A formerly crucial member of the Watford first-team he has struggled for regular football since promotion to the Premier League.

Wednesday appear hopeful that they can win the battle for his signature this summer and add him to their attacking ranks, which are already growing.

Vydra scored 16 goals for the club last season and is a former Championship player of the Year – so would be a massive coup for Wednesday if they managed to get him through the door.
