Boro might be making a move for the attacker this week.

Middlesbrough are all set to snap up Cypriot forward Andreas Makris, according to a report in The Northern Echo today.

The report claims that Boro are continuing to assess the merits of the attacker, who is currently with Anorthosis Famagusta in his homeland.

The 19-year-old has been in great form for his club and it is being reported that Boro are keen on the player ahead of the transfer window closing on Tuesday evening.

The move would see them snap up a quality talent who already has five caps for his national team.

The teenager can play both through the middle and out wide, which might make him the perfect signing considering that Boro are all set to sell their current wide man Albert Adomah after he had a massive bust-up with Boro boss Aitor Karanka.

Makris played 30 times in the Cypriot league last season, scoring 13 times, which for a teenager is surely no mean feat.

At a reported fee of just £500,000 he might just be worth a gamble.
