It's one that Real Betis fans have eagerly anticipated throughout the summer, and now it's a done deal. Joaquin is heading back to La Liga and the Benito Villamarin.
Via their official club website, Fiorentina announced the departure of the 34-year-old former Spain international, within the final hour of transfer deadline day. The deal was subsequently announced by the official La Liga website just before midnight, after his registration for Betis had been completed.
The Spanish club then tweeted the news, proudly declaring the homecoming of Joaquin via their social networks, along with further details on the official Real Betis website.
Earlier in the day, Joaquin had already paved the way for his Fiorentina exit, thanking the Italian club for "two fantastic years" in Serie A, admitting: "I'm happy, but also sad, because I'm leaving my second home."
In comments noted by Sevilla based outlet Estadio Deportivo, he also enthused: "I'm really happy and I'm returning to my home. Everything has turned out for the best. It's been a difficult couple of weeks, but I always had positive sensations."

Meanwhile and in another deadline day move, Betis have also completed the signing of Ricky van Wolfswinkel. The Dutch striker joins from Norwich City, having spent last season on loan in France with Saint-Etienne.
In a frenetic final hour of the transfer deadline day, Betis secured the services of the 26-year-old on loan for the 2015-16 season in La Liga, having reached a full agreement with Norwich City, who announced the move via their official Twitter account.
