Crystal Palace midfielder Barry Bannan is set to undergo a medical at Sheffield Wednesday ahead of a move to Hillsborough, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Bannan has found himself well down the pecking order in Alan Pardew's plans and has not featured for the Eagles so far this season.
The 25-year-old was on the fringes of the first-team last season and spent the final months of last campaign out on loan at Bolton Wanderers.
With Bannan being told he was unlikely to feature for Palace this season a number of Championship clubs have been monitoring his situation.
However, Wednesday are in pole position to land the former Aston Villa man after agreeing a deal with Palace who are willing to let Bannan go on loan or leave on a permanent basis.
Bannan is keen to be playing regular first-team football this season to safeguard his spot in the Scotland squad with next summer's European Championships in mind should Scotland qualify for the finals.
