HITC Sport understands Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray.

Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray is poised to join Premier League rivals Bournemouth, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Bournemouth have been chasing Murray all summer with Cherries boss Eddie Howe a big admirer of the powerful forward.

Palace have rejected a couple of offers from Bournemouth for Murray, but it now appears the Premier League new boys have met Palace's valuation for the 31-year-old.

Palace are willing to sell Murray after bringing in Connor Wickham from Sunderland this summer and with Wickham set to be Alan Pardew's No.1 striker in his new formation the club have decided to listen to offers for Murray.

Murray scored seven Premier League goals last season after getting a run in the side in the second half of last term under Pardew.

Murray, who had a spell on loan at Reading last term, joined Palace on a free transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2011 and scored 47 goals in 112 appearances for the Eagles.
