Confirmed: Celtic agree deal for Inverness star Ryan Christie, medical and personal terms to be agreed

The Scotland Under-21 international is all set to join the Scottish champions shortly.

Scottish Premier League side Inverness Caledonian Thistle have today confirmed that they have agreed for their midfielder Ryan Christie to travel to Glasgow to agree personal terms and undergo a medical at Celtic.

An official statement on the Caley website had this to say:

As a result of a further approach from Celtic FC, and following discussions with the management team and the player, the board of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC can confirm that Ryan Christie has been given leave to travel to Glasgow to discuss personal terms.

The 20-year-old, who made his Scottish Premiership debut against Celtic back in December 2013, has emerged as a real talent in Scottish football and is all set to agree a move to Celtic Park.

The central midfielder with a wonderful left peg looks like becoming the latest young Scottish talent to head to Celtic Park – following in the footsteps of the likes of Scott Allan, Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven.

Earlier in the week it had emerged that Celtic made a £500,000 bid for the player but the BBC reported Inverness boss John Hughes as making it clear this was not enough to complete a deal for the player.

It would now appear that Celtic have returned with a better offer and that Christie will be a Bhoy within the next 24 hours.
